Saanjh 1947 is a visual representation of a unified dream for Punjab.

Punjab is a land of love and beauty. In 1947, the political situation in the subcontinent deteriorated as the British left India, leading to the partition of the country after much political struggle. This partition divided Punjab into two parts, on either side of the border. Our story narrates the plight of lovers who were separated due to this division, told through the medium of art.

Punjab has always been blessed with a rich cultural heritage and artistic expression, which paid a high price during the partition. One notable aspect of this culture is Phulkari, a type of embroidery unique to Punjab. Unfortunately, many artisans who created Phulkari have either passed away or ceased their craft due to commercialization, putting this traditional art at risk of being lost forever.

We collaborate with skilled artisans who practice the art of Phulkari to help keep Punjab's cultural heritage alive. Our focus is on creating sustainable, hand-crafted clothing that preserves the essence of Punjab, drawing on minimalistic details and unique styles.

Furthermore, Saanjh 1947 aims to build bridges between the two Punjabs, fostering a sense of brotherhood and unity.
